Jonathan Cheszes
Director
Jonathan brings 19 years of experience across Canada’s electricity sector, with roles spanning procurement design and implementation at the Independent Electricity System Operator, consulting, project development, construction, and asset operations. Jonathan is the President of Compass Greenfield Development, a leading developer of solar and battery storage in Eastern Canada, and serves on the Board of Energy Storage Canada. He has a proven development track record, having brought five utility-scale energy storage projects in Canada from concept to commercial operation over the past three years.
Scott Martin, CFA
Head of Commercial Strategy
Scott brings 11 years of Alberta-focused experience supporting the development strategy, financial modelling, commodity sales, and acquisition and divestiture processes for over 4GW of utility-scale electricity generation projects at various stages of development in the province. As a CFA Charterholder, he brings a unique combination of financial expertise and data-driven insights to each stage of the development process.
David Whitehead
Head of Development
David brings 8 years of experience leading the development of over 2.5GW of electricity projects in Alberta spanning solar, wind, and BESS. He has extensive market-specific experience bringing projects from origination through to commercial operations, having previously led the development of the Travers Solar Project (currently the largest operating solar project in Canada) as well as the development of >2GW of solar and storage projects in Alberta that were successfully divested.
